North Arkansas Electric Cooperative will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on June 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the co-op’s Salem office.
For more information or to make an appointment to donate, call NAEC at 870-895-6210 or sign up at www.redcrossblood.org with sponsor code “NAECS.”
“Concern for community is one of the seven cooperative principles by which NAEC operates,” said Tori Moss, marketing and communications director. “We can’t think of a better way to show concern than by donating blood to help community members in need.”
Blood is a perishable product that only can come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be replenished constantly, according to the Red Cross. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
The NAEC office is located at 225 South Main Street in Salem. The blood drive will be held in the Orange Room.
