NAEC has received reports from members – mostly businesses – who have been called by scammers. The person claims to be from the electric company and demands the member pay his or her allegedly overdue electric bill immediately or be disconnected. The calls were from 1-800 numbers, and some mentioned Entergy instead of NAEC.
Please know that NAEC employees do not threaten our members in this manner, and we never require third-party payment methods or prepaid debit cards.
Members who suspect they are not speaking with an NAEC employee always are encouraged to hang up and call the co-op at 870-895-3221.
